What happens to the details you send through this website, in plain words.
Who is responsible
Charlie Brown, trading as CJB Tree & Garden Services, is responsible for the details you send through this website. To ask anything about them, ring 07951 494012 or email charliejamesbrowntree@gmail.com.
What the quote form collects
When you ask for a free quote visit, the form sends Charlie:
- your name
- your phone number
- your email address, so a copy of your request comes straight back to you
- the address of the job
- what the job is, and the day and time of day you would like the visit
- anything you write in the notes
- a photo of the job, if you add one (a phone photo can carry the date and the place it was taken)
- which link brought you to the form, if you came from one of his posts
Why
To ring you back, come and look at the job, give you a price, and arrange the work if you go ahead. Nothing else.
The legal reason
You have asked Charlie for a quote, and he needs these details to give you one. The law calls this taking steps at your request before a contract (UK GDPR, Article 6(1)(b)).
Do you have to give them?
No. But without your name, a phone number, an email address and the address of the job, Charlie cannot ring you back, send you a copy or come and look. The notes and the photo are up to you.
Who sees them
Charlie. On the way from this website to his inbox your request passes through the company that hosts the website (Vercel) and the email delivery service that sends it on to him (Resend), and it lands in his email inbox (Gmail, run by Google). They handle it only to provide that service.
These providers may process your details outside the UK, mostly in the United States. Vercel and Resend use the contract terms that UK law approves for sending personal details abroad. Ask Charlie if you want to know more.
How long they are kept
If your request does not turn into a job, Charlie deletes it within 12 months. If it does, he keeps what he needs for the job and for his business and tax records, for as long as the law asks him to.
Your rights
You can ask Charlie for a copy of the details he holds about you, to correct them, to delete them, to stop using them for a while, or for a copy in a form you can pass to someone else. Ring 07951 494012 or email charliejamesbrowntree@gmail.com. There is no charge, and he answers within a month.
No decision about you is made by a computer.
Not happy?
Tell Charlie first and he will put it right if he can. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK regulator: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113.
Just looking round the site
This website sets no cookies of its own and runs no tracking or analytics. Like any website, your browser fetches the pages from the website host, the fonts from Google Fonts and the map from Esri, and each of them sees your device’s internet address to send them. The website host keeps short technical logs to keep the site running and safe.
